Founded in the year 2000, Foolsgold Theatre Company was created to expand the exciting and dynamic style of 'Walkabout' theatre. It sought to move away from traditional texts for performance with original dramtisations of the unsung and unusual literary classics.
The early work of the company explored Leonardo da Vinci's concept of the marriage of art and science; the success of this early work brought the company critical acclaim from diverse quarters. This early recognition of our work provided the opportunity to perform to ever widening audiences in highly unusual places and gain commissions to produce original work for prestigious clients.
Now, more than half a decade on, the company acts as a reservoir for the most talented artists, actors, writers and technicians in the country.
Based in the North West of England on the Wirral peninsula and proud of the association with the North, its shows are fantastical theatrical spectacles. Created with daring imagination the productions are a feast of light, space, music, action and technical wizardry.
The company's onward and upward approach sees every year more successful than the last, with a mission to suspend the disbelief of its audiences wholly and completely!
