"Foolsgold Theatre Company specialise in bringing extraordinary theatrical events to unconventional spaces, and occupy a unique niche in the performing arts. Traditionally their summer productions have had a scientific theme, thanks to the unusual background of company co-founder Tim Beasley, a research chemist, as well as an actor with recent credits on Coronation Street and Phoenix Nights. This year's production of Aldous Huxley's Brave New World was adapted by Beasley's creative partner Sherry Hughes, and marks the 50th anniversary of Crick and Watson's discovery of the structure of DNA. In the usual Fool's Gold tradition, it's not just the cast who are expected to expend some energy, as the audience are invited to follow Huxley's cautionary - and increasingly relevant - tale around Royden Park, Frankby, and assess the merits of a world in which science controls everything."
